Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

On every track (Byrds Byrds Byrds), there’s a resemblance (Byrds Byrds Byrds)… But a resemblance only. These guys rock a bit harder: the first track could pass for punk. Petty doesn’t always carry the vocals when called upon, but since it’s all over in a half hour it’s easy to forgive him. On every spin you increase your appreciation of how how fantastic “American Girl” is.
