Less glam rock-y than expected, though Freddie has the voice for it (I pegged him as “Freddy” before consulting a second opinion). Decent melodies here and there - but not much more - and “Killer Queen” suggests they have a knack for songwriting they didn’t fully showcase here: there must be an award for working “Moët et Chandon” into a song without sounding too pretentious. Then again, maybe more pretentiousness is exactly what this album needs.
