This is soft pop done right. Melodies complex enough to keep listeners hooked, wrapped in the familiar themes of romantic angst. True to form, the harmonies are tight and the rhythm section nudges the vocalists forward when necessary. It’s almost offensively risk-free, but their confidence in this space gives us the rousing “Gypsy” and “Hold Me,” among others.
