“Corporate rock” is a lame charge to levy against these guys. They cut this thing for a few thousand dollars, and only the final track was actually recorded in a studio! They’re saints when compared to this month’s disheveled hipsters and sexed-up princesses currently splattered across every streaming site known to man. To be sure, this album is a feat of engineering over musicianship (if you’ve never heard any live Boston, consider yourself blessed), but every track exudes earnest joy. A must-listen for the next road trip.
